Getting swept by the Yankees in New York isn’t Apocalyptic. But mustering only eight runs in four games is troublesome. More so, the 5-7 Rangers have already blown two wins with their bullpen and kicked another away with their defense.

Considering his shocking and unprecedented cocaine admission, I’m assuming manager Ron Washington is on a short leash. He doesn’t have a contract for next season.

And, after all, the Rangers’ play falls at his feet.

In summary, the Rangers aren’t hitting, pitching (at least Frankie Francisco isn’t) or fielding like a club ready to contend for a division championship. We can blame the absence of Ian Kinsler or the arrival of Clint Hurdle all we want, but when does the heat get turned up on the manager?
