Dave Mirra will be in town this weekend to see if Dallas’ gravitational pull is enough to weigh him down. Doubtful.

The perfect remedy for Trinity River tired head? Spend a weekend with thousands of dudes who don’t give a damn about our new toll road unless it includes a half-pipe. Oh, and don’t expect them to be real vigilant about pullin’ up their britches, either. But if you appreciate world-class athletes accented by hip-hop music, Reunion Arena is about to be the shiznit.

A thrill-seeking cousin to ESPN’s wildly popular X Games, the LG Action Sports World Championships return to Dallas Friday through Sunday, crowning the 2007 kings of BMX, inline skating (once known as roller-blading, Gramps) and skateboarding (thankfully, some things never change — or do they?). Star Dave Mirra and more than 125 athletes — who qualified for this psychotic Super Bowl via 22 events throughout the year — will compete for the record $650,000 prize money and the adoration of the coveted 15-34 target demographic on CBS, Spike and Fuel TV. And as if that weren’t enough, four words: Kanye. West. And. Ludacris.

Kanye and his trademark teddy bear will perform after Friday’s events, while Chris Bridges will surely produce an extended version of “What’s Your Fantasy” Saturday night.
