Johnny’s Pizza House has opened its first North Texas location in Addison, at the northwest corner of Belt Line and Midway.
Johnny’s is originally out of Monroe, Louisiana, where they have a fairly devout following. Their thick crusts are loaded with gooey cheese, and piling on the toppings is encouraged. The legendary “Sweep of the Kitchen Pizza” has 11 toppings.
The “Hog Heaven” is an eye-catcher, too. It has smoked ham, savory bacon, sausage, spicy smoked andouille and jalapeños.
Pizzas range from 8 to 14 inches. Prices are reasonable and start at $5.99 for a small one-topping and go up to $13.77 for a large one-topping. The lunchtime buffet is $6.99 and the salad bar looks solid ($3.99 for just the salad). The price for a kid’s buffet is by year: $0.40 per year of age. And there appears to be a small game room in the back.

If you were thinking this sounds like Cici’s, I’d say not. The food here is actually good. The atmosphere is definitely geared towards families, but they’re also open until midnight on the weekends and serve beer.
Tuesday was opening day, and they say they broke the company’s all-time record for sales in one day.
