Dallas Video Festival guru Bart Weiss stopped by the office this week to talk about the 20th DVF, which gets underway next week and promises a meaty schedule — and I don’t just mean the ’70s porn homage Viva, which screens … um … look, the DVF’s site isn’t exactly the easiest to negotiate.
Anyway, we do know when The Trials of Law School screens: August 5 at 4:30 p.m. at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. It’s of some interest to locals, as well: It was directed by an Oklahoma filmmaker and attorney named Porter Heath Morgan, who attended S.M.U. — which is where some of the documentary was shot. And Texas Law Blog pointed out a couple of weeks back that, “Of the students featured [in the movie], four now practice in the Dallas area.” We’re in the middle of watching it, and so far, so pretty danged good.
