Word is Mark Mulder has re-signed with his former team and not, yup, Your Texas Rangers.
Our pal Jamey Newberg, of The Newberg Report, sends word of an odd happening tonight: a Texas Rangers Town Hall Meeting. It’s taking place at the Academy Sports & Outdoors location on Forest Lane and North Central Expressway. Among those expected to attend: team president Jeff Cogen, Rangers general manager Jon Daniels, pitchers Kameron Loe and C.J. Wilson, radio announcer Victor Rojas and ex-Rangers catching great Jim Sundberg.
The shindig is expected to last from 6 to 7:30 p.m. And likely to be among the topics of conversation: Just how the hell did the Rangers let yet another big-name free-agent pitcher sign with another team. Word just came down the wire that Mark Mulder has signed with his former team, the World Series-winnin’ St. Louis Cardinals. Surprise, surprise, surprise. So, by all means, attend tonight’s town hall meeting, but don’t let me catch you throwin’ no softballs. –Robert Wilonsky
