While I’m at one film festival, seems like a good time to tell you about job openings at a cinema-lovers’ shindig a little closer to home: Melina McKinnon of the AFI Dallas International Film Festival sends word that the festival, now in its second year after an impressive bow last March and April, is looking for folks. Right now, pronto — as the fest is but two months away, starting off March 27.
And these aren’t popcorn gigs but, rather, such titles as special events producer, technical manager, presentation manager and guest services coordination — which, I guess, means you fetch celebs their Target goodie bags and purse-sized puppies? Dunno, but you can find out at the festival’s help-wanted page, which … um … doesn’t appear to have been updated since yesterday’s missive. –Robert Wilonsky
