Grover back to Arlington? Could happen.

Don’t hit the breaking news sounder. And don’t come in here telling me to out my sources. This is just a gut feeling.

Don’t be surprised if Mike Hargrove manages your Texas Rangers in 2009. According to this, he wants back in baseball. And according to this, he was on the team’s contingency list back when things looked bleak for Ron Washington back in May.

Something just tells me team president Nolan Ryan will look around at all the superior hitting and all the dramatic finishes and reckon that his team should have more to show for it than a .500 season dragged down by a ridiculous rotation and shoddy fielding. He fired the pitching coach for all the runs allowed. Wouldn’t be shocked if he blamed the manager for all the errors.

$30,000

Add it all up and, I dunno, just feels like he’ll turn to one of his old baseball cronies to take this thing to the next level. To me, Hargrove fits the mold. — Richie Whitt
