Ya know what Richie’s doing tomorrow? Getting tennis lessons from this woman. He calls it “working.” Whatever eases his guilty conscience…
We never really need an excuse to run a pic of Anna Kournikova, but today we actually have one.
The hottest player to ever pick up a tennis racquet–and yeah, we know, to never win a singles tournament–will be in town this weekend headlining the clumsily named Baylor Medical Center at Frisco Pro Celebrity Classic. The exhibition event, which includes former U.S. Open champ Tracy Austin, former Wimbledon queen Jana Novotna and the Jensen twins (who are not to be confused with the Olsens, mind you), takes place Saturday night at 7:30 at the also clumsily named Dr. Pepper StarsCenter Deja Blue Arena and will benefit the Maureen Connolly Brinker Tennis Foundation of Dallas. Tickets, priced from $26-$75 are available here or 214-GO-STARS. Yadda, yadda and more yadda.

The important part is that Anna will be there. In a short skirt. As a public service to readers, I’m taking part in a Kournikova-led clinic Saturday afternoon at T Bar M Racquet Club. I’m going to hit on her and hope she hits back. And, for what it’s worth, Anna did win two Grand Slams in doubles and was once ranked as the world’s No. 1 women’s doubles player. So there. If that doesn’t make her newsworthy, check this out. My point. –Richie Whitt
