Confirmed: #Cowboys‘ receiver Dez Bryant has torn ligaments in his finger and will have season-ending surgery, be placed on IR.— Richie Whitt (@richiewhitt) December 10, 2012
Our old pal Richie Whitt is among those reporting that the Cowboys’ star receiver is out for the season, which would be “devastating” news if it didn’t come two days after the Cowboys received actually devastating news. (Richie’s reporting it a little more forcefully than others.)

Bryant has averaged 110 yards and 1.5 touchdowns in his last four games. Together with Miles Austin’s body being less durable than a 33-year-old newspaper editor’s, this probably means the Cowboys’ already slim playoff hopes just went on a juice fast.
