Finally got around to watching HDNet’s Girls Gone Wild: Search for the Hottest Girl in America last night.

Couple of people have told me HDNet is struggling, that’s why proprietor and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is desperately partnering with GGW founder Joe Francis. Another skeptic said NBA commish David Stern would frown upon one of his owners profiting from soft-core porn.
But me, I finally got around to watching HDNet’s Girls Gone Wild: Search for the Hottest Girl in America last night.

But me, I figure Cubes knows what he’s doing. It’s more an edgy (and revealing) expansion of the HDNet brand. Right?
Let’s call it, um, research, shall we?
I’m watching the pre-show GGW ads, and it’s the typical commercial: Girls flashing and dancing and kissing and prancing, all with their private parts blurred out and/or covered up by “Censored” or “Too Hot for TV”.
Been there. Seen that.
On to the show …
As expected, it’s a big informercial for GGW and a giant ego stroke for Francis. He high-fives and fist bumps girls/models/candidates, makes fake phone calls to his cameramen and generally tip-toes around — but not totally into — cheesery.
The GGW bus is going around here and there into clubs and there are hot, young girls and — BOOM! — all the sudden there it is. Not a girl flashing behind “Censored”, but a girl flashing — in all her naked glory.
Boobs. Booty. Not hoo-hahs. But otherwise, total nudity.
I had to pause/rewind/pause/rewind/pause/rewind/pause/rewind/pause/rewind to believe my eyes. It’s late-night cable and all, but …
There was a gorgeous blond girl with big blue eyes, even bigger tan-lined breasts, adorned with a necklace and a sliver cross pendant. Girls kissing. A girl licking another girl’s boob. One girl excitedly shouting “I just turned 18!”
The first episode centered on some crazy club in Michigan. At some point I’m sure the scenery will shift to Dallas.
Which, of course, means two words: More research.
