Most nights, try shouting, “Can I get a hell yeah?!” in a Best Buy and all anyone will give you is a mean staredown from the washing machine aisle.
When it happened Thursday night at the store along LBJ Freeway, though, with a whole line of Dimebag Darrell fans waiting to meet the late Pantera founder’s family, they were all too happy to give a “Hell yeah!” right back.
Fans began lining up five hours early to meet Vinnie Paul Abbott, Dimebag’s brother, and his father Jerry, who signed copies of the recently released book/DVD He Came To Rock (as promised here last week).
One fan from Fort Worth, who said he goes only by “Blackey,” showed up wearing one of the many Dimebag and Pantera shirts in the crowd. “Darrell’s guitar always mesmerized me,” he said. “He was like Eddie Van Halen. When he played guitar, he was on fire.”

The Dallas stop was the third in the family’s whirlwind book-signing tour, which first took them to Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and wrapped up with a stop in New York City.
