It’s been a couple months now since 32-year-old Dallas native and Jesuit grad Wyatt Cenac launched into The Daily Show‘s cast by proclaiming that “George Bush doesn’t care about Wyatt people”–and about the same amount of time has passed since Unfair Park talked to Cenac about his new(ish) gig.

But, don’t fret, the man’s still going strong on the show. And, today, he represents Dallas pretty hard in his iTunes Celebrity Playlist with the rest of The Daily Show‘s correspondents. When asked to why he included Erykah Badu‘s “The Healer” (off her still-stellar New Amerykah, Pt. 1 disc), Cenac explains:

“She’s consistently put out great music for over a decade. To me, she’s the pride of Dallas. (Eat it, Jessica Simpson and Vanilla Ice and Edie Brickell…and me.)”

Ya gotta dig it when locals support locals–even when they throw three other locals (and themselves) under the bus. (Hat tip to Stereogum) —Pete Freedman
