When we caught up with former Secret Machines- and UFOFU-er Benjamin Curtis at Austin City Limits this past fall, the current School of Seven Bells member gave us some insight into the sophomore release his band was working on at the time:
“It’s a bigger sound,” he said. “It’s also a little
more direct in a way–simpler with the harmonies.”
He also told us the album’s name: Disconnect From Desire.
Yesterday, the band’s publicity team confirmed as much, also while announcing the release date for the new disc: July 13.
Here’s hoping it’s half as good as Alpinisms, the band’s phenomenal debut. No tour dates have been announced yet; we’ll let you know when those come.
