How long before Dallas is a thing of Jaffe’s past? (Allison V. Smith)
And so it begins, I guess. A few weeks back, when we told you about Sarah Jaffe‘s incredible new EP, and, specifically, about the stunning title track “Even Born Again”, we warned you this might happen.
Well, now the national accolades are starting pour in. Jaffe, who the New York Times already (lazily) compared to Norah Jones, is now getting praise from another beacon of all things intelligent and forward-thinking: National Public Radio. Today, Jaffe’s “Even Born Again” was tapped as NPR’s Song of the Day–a nice little prize that nets Jaffe both a write-up and a front-page icon on NPR’s site.
Congrats to the fast-rising clean-up DOMA winner, who’ll surely be playing to a uncomfortably packed house tonight as she, Austin’s phenomenal Brothers & Sisters and Fort Worth’s devastatingly underappreciated Telegraph Canyon take to The Cavern‘s stage. —Pete Freedman
