Word comes today that Polyphonic Spree strings player Rick Nelson (pictured right) has joined up with another musical outfit in addition to the Spree–this one called My Jerusalem–and, as the headline for this post details, it features a number of other experienced musicians, who’ve participated and contributed to projects as varied as The Gutter Twins, Twilight Singers, Bishop Allen and Great Northern.

No official releases from the band yet, although there are plans to release a five-song EP called Without Feathers on March 10 (just in time for SXSW, where the band will debut live), as well as plans to release a full-length debut later this summer.

You can head on over to the band’s Myspace page right now, though, to hear three tracks from the band, including the EP’s lead-off track “Sweet Chariot”. Or, you can stream it and download it right here, as the band’s been kind enough to offer up the song as a free download for DC9 readers.
