By the early looks of things, it appears as if Dallas is getting its fair share of great shows to pick from come this fall.

Now you can add Kings of Leon to that list. The Followill brothers will stop through town, supporting their upcoming album Only By The Night, with a gig at the Palladium Ballroom on October 29. And joining the Kings of Leon on this bill are the great We Are Scientists and The Stills.

I’ve seen Kings of Leon a few times now, and if you haven’t witnessed one of their shows, you’re missing out: They don’t fly all over the stage, have pyro and video screens; they just put on a great balls-out rock ‘n’ roll show.

Also: Check out the band’s new single “Sex on Fire” on its Myspace page. The last album, Because of The Times, was kind of a snoozer compared to KoL’s first two. But “Sex on Fire” seems to bridge the gap between the Southern rock bravado of Youth and Young Manhood and Aha Shake Heartbreak with the more progressive rock of Because of The Times. –Lance Lester
