The construction dust is settling in Uptown, and New York-born cafe Little Ruby’s has finally announced its opening date — Monday, Feb. 2.
The concept is an original from Wish You Were Here Hospitality Group, and it’s landing in the brand-new 23Springs development at 2305 Cedar Springs Road, near Uchi and Nuri Steakhouse.
This Little Ruby’s location is the first outside its East Coast origins, and it hopes to bring a polished approach to all-day dining with the effortless blend of Sydney’s laid-back, coastal culture and New York City’s vibrant energy.
It first debuted in New York in 2002 and has been a neighborhood staple across New York City since.
Little Ruby’s will be a bit of a catch-all dish for diners and accommodate both indoor and outdoor dining, bar goers, quick visits and longer get-togethers.
The interior will take on the same signature warmth and refinement as other Little Ruby’s cafes in New York, but the Dallas location will have something signature: a custom cowhide wall installation by Texas-based artist Kyle Bunting.
More details include a garden-style patio, red travertine flooring, white oak millwork and custom furnishings.
The allure of Little Ruby’s lies in its all-day menu, centered on comforting dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
We’re seeing signature items like the Bronte burger, spicy vodka pasta, ricotta hotcakes and chicken schnitzel making their way from the New York menus. There is no word on whether the Dallas location will have signature menu items like other imports have.
The beverage program offers a full roster of coffee, matcha creations, daytime spritzes on tap, classic cocktails and smoothies with a near indefinite amount of customizations.
Little Ruby’s will open at 2305 Cedar Springs Road on Monday, Feb. 2 for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
