When it rains, it pours. (Erica Fellicella)
Seems Dallas’ own little alt-country diva Kristy Kruger is out on a national tour with former Verve Pipe frontman Brian Vander Ark.
And, actually, Kruger isn’t only opening the shows; she and her two able sidemen (drummer Richard Hewett and guitarist Dylan Sneed) are providing backup for Vander Ark.
On October 14th, Kruger makes her way back to Dallas (playing solo at the Women’s Museum at the State Fair), and then it’s back on the road with Vander Ark until early 2009. Interestingly, Kruger’s recently-recorded-but-not-yet-released new effort will not feature either of her current bandmates. Instead, Los Angeles alt-country act Rose’s Pawn Shop will provide support for Kruger’s always sturdy songwriting. –Darryl Smyers
