John Blake just sent word: Josh Hamilton will return to the world of the baseball living tonight in Frisco, when he begins a rehab stint with the RoughRiders as Steve Buechele’s second-place squad takes on the Midland Rockhounds. Hamilton, benched with a non-displaced hairline fracture of his right humerus bone since that damned head-first slide into home on April 12, will DH. Writes Blake, “Hamilton had a CT scan and was examined today by Rangers Team Physician Dr. Keith Meister. The CT scan indicated significant healing, and Dr. Meister cleared Hamilton to begin the rehab assignment tonight.”

Hamilton’s expected to play today and tomorrow. So too is Nelson Cruz, who’s also rehabbing out in right field for Frisco after two games as DH. Plenty of good seats available for tonight’s game — just found three on the eighth row behind first base, for a grand total of, like, next to nothing.
