After a weird, scary ordeal that started with him being admitted to the hospital with early pneumonia and then kept longer than anticipated despite “significant improvement,” Texas Rangers’ outfielder and American League MVP Josh Hamilton was released from the hospital Sunday afternoon.
The thing was handled strangely by the Rangers from the outset to the end – yesterday one press release named the wrong hospital at which he stayed – but looks like all’s well that ends well.
I am told that on Wednesday night, Hamilton’s fever hit 104 at Medical Center of Arlington, but that he should be able to resume full-speed baseball activities next week and be ready for spring training in about a month.
Whew.
