Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback Tony Romo shot 72 out at Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney Tuesday afternoon. He advanced to Monday’s next round of Nelson qualifying, which might conflict with the Cowboys’ first OTA (Organized Team Activity) of the spring at Valley Ranch.
The Nelson, like most PGA events, has a handful of exemptions it can use to invite special players into the field (past champs, celebrities or Annika Sorenstam/Michelle Wie ring a bell?). Romo wouldn’t win the tournament.
But he would certainly create a buzz outside the big white party tent.
