Stackhouse Burgers on Gaston opened this week in a refurbished house near Baylor, with James Rose formerly of Bob’s Chop House at the helm. In addition to juicy burgers, one of the standout features of this new place is the amazing view of downtown Dallas from the upstairs treetop patio.

Stackhouse burgers are made with a blend of brisket and chuck on brioche-style custom-made buns. The burger menu is straightforward: single (6oz.), double or veggie. Add on’s include cheese, bacon, chili, avocado, curds or a fried egg.

They also offer a five different sandwiches: chicken club, Portobello, pulled pork Cuban, grilled cheese and “The Dagwood.” Keeping the gut in check for lunch crowd, they also offer a soup and salad combo, a classic cold cut, grilled fish and five different salads.

Ben Spies of MotoGP bike racing is part owner and at times can be found having a burger at the bar. The other owner, Randy Kienast, is a local homebuilder who completely renovated this old house and, fortunately, maintained a lot of its vintage charm.
